K.V.No.1, Chandimandir

A colourful function was held today at Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Chandimandir Cantt to commemorate the 59th Republic Day of India. The Principal,Ms Narinder Mohini hoisted the National Flag and reminded the students of the sacrifices made by the countless martyrs to build up a Sovereign Democratic Republic in our country .She urged them to take up the challenge of leading India to greater heights in the present global scenario .

Diwali:

On 7th November ,2007 the student of class II presented a special item in the morning assembly on do’s and don’ts of Diwali and spread the messageof saying no to crackers.

Children’s Day:

Children’s Day, celebrated on 14th November was marked by Fancy Dress Competition in which 150 students participated. Community lunch & a friendly 10 over cricket match between XII-A & XII-B was organized. Refreshment was given to the students.A Book Fair was also organized on the occasion.

Communal Harmony :

Communal Harmony Week from 19th to 25th November 07 and Flag Day on 23rd November. Speeches were given by teachers and students on Communal Harmony. On 22.11.07 Children of class I presented a special item in the morning assembly and spread the message of communal harmony and oneness.

Foundation Day :

The Foundation Day of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Chandimandir on 15.12.2007.

The Officiating Principal Ms Harinder Kaur called upon the students and members of the staff to remember that they represented a rare task force , promoting not only excellence in education , but also national integration in the form of ‘Miniature India’, that every Kendriya Vidyalaya represents so well.

In an informative speech Km Rajni of class IX highlighted the inception ,growth and mission of KVS , the premiere educational organisation ,which boasts of best academic results in the CBSE examinations every year. The school campus reverberated with the melody of the Vidyalaya Song-‘Bharat Ka Swarnim Gaurav Kendriya Vidyalaya Layega’. In an oath-taking ceremony all members of the staff pledged to discharge their duties conscientiously, inculcate patriotism as well as cultural and ethical values among the countrymen through their services and to commit themselves with dedication and devotion towards the betterment of our country and countrymen.

Inter house 100 m race was organised after the morning assembly .Sayed of class X bagged the first position in Senior (Boys) group ,while Abhinav of class VIII stood first in the Junior (boys) group. In Senior (Girls) group Reena of class X bagged the first position and Sushma of class VIII stood first in the Junior (Girls) group.Fifty one Scouts and Guides participated actively in a one –day camp held on the occasion for ‘Parvesh’ and ‘Pratham Sopan’ .

Lohri Celebrations :

Lohri, the harvest festival was celebrated with great joy and jubilation in the school campus .The traditional bonfire was lighted by the Principal ,Mrs Narinder Mohini ,who wished peace and prosperity to the staff and students on the occasion .Children presented folk songs , giddha and Bhangra .

The foot tapping beats of the ‘dhol’, the singing of ‘Sunder Mundriye Hoye ‘ and the joyous dancing of the students reflected the vibrant festive spirit that pervaded the atmosphere .
Peanuts and rewaris were also distributed to all the students on behalf of the Principal and staff.
